Palm Springs police search for leads in deadly hit-and-run
Palm Springs police searched for any potential leads as they try to tracked down the vehicle that hit and killed a woman on Gene Autry Trail Monday.
Spokesman Mike Kovaleff said officers were sent to Gene Autry Trail and North Via Escuela around 1:35 a.m. after a motorist reported a hazard in the roadway.
They arrived to find the body of a woman in the road with injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle.
As a result, Gene Autry Trail between Via Escuela and Interstate 10 was shut down until further notice while police search for clues.
