Local casinos host viewing parties for Bradley, Pacquiao fight
The Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage and the
Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella will hold viewing parties for tonight’s World Boxing Organization welterweight title fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley Jr. of Palm Springs.
Tickets to the Agua Caliente viewing party are $25 in advance or $35 at the door, and can be purchased at the casino gift shop, online at www.StarTickets.com or by calling (800) 858-3737. The viewing party will be at The Show, where Bradley fought Nate Campbell in a bout ruled a no contest and won decisions over Lamont Peterson and Luis Carlos Abregu in 2009 and 2010.
There is no charge for the Spotlight 29 viewing party, with seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 5 p.m. The casino can be reached at (866) 377-6829.
The 28-year-old Bradley, born in Cathedral City, has a 28-0 record with 12 knockouts and one fight ruled a no contest. Pacquiao is 54-3-2 with 38 knockouts. He has won 15 consecutive fights, a streak dating back to 2005. The telecast of the card from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas begins at 6 p.m. Promoter Bob Arum has said the Bradley-Pacquiao fight will not begin until after Game 7 of the NBA Eastern Conference finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat is completed.
