Brush fire erupts on Hwy 74, near Palm Desert

Cal Fire and U.S. Bureau of Land Management crews are battling a vegetation fire burning along Highway 74.

A Cal Fire spokesperson said the fire — estimated at one acre — was reported around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol are reporting the fire is close to the intersection of Highway 74 and Carrizo Road, which is located just above Vista Point.
