Weather Anchor/Reporter, Gulf-California Broadcasting, Palm Desert, CA
How many different ways can you say “hot and sunny”?
Gulf-California Broadcast Company (ABC, CBS, FOX and Telemundo), in hot and sunny Palm Springs, California, is looking for a weather-caster for our weekend evening newscasts.
We get 354 days of sunshine here, but we get bad weather, too.: wind, rain and snow (believe it or not!).
It gets host here in the summer, but as our general manager likes to say, “You never have to shovel heat!”
Palm Springs is market 145, but we don’t look like it on-air. Just ask people in our newsroom who came here expecting to stay for two years and never left (or they left and came back).
Qualified candidates must have a four year degree in broadcasting or journalism (you’ll report news, too) and experience doing the weather on television.
THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION.
We are looking for someone who can use our state-of-the-art weather graphics system to tell an accurate and interesting weather story. We’re also looking for someone with a winning on-camera personality and a strong work ethic.
