Coachella shooting suspect on the run

Deputies were looking for a gunman who shot someone sitting in a vehicle in a Coachella driveway before running away, a sheriff’s department spokesman said.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to a residence in
the 86000 block of Corte Stella and found the victim with a single gunshot
wound, sheriff’s Sgt. Steve DaSilva said.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-
threatening, DaSilva said.

“There is no suspect description at this time,” said DaSilva, who did
not reveal the age or gender of the victim.
