Fire continues to burn in Aguanga

Cal Fire investigators now say lightning is the cause of the 3000 acre Buck Fire still burning in Aguanga.

There has been a total of five injuries: 1 civilian with major injuries (transported by air ambulance), 1 civilian with minor injuries (transported by ground ambulance) and 3 firefighters with minor injuries (all transported by ground ambulance).

4 structures including at least one home have been destroyed or damaged by the blaze which erupted late Tuesday afternoon.

Smoke from this fire is drifting to the north into the Coachella Valley, Morongo Valley and Yucca Valley areas.

Firefighters estimate that 3,000 acres have burned as of noon Wednesday, and listed the fire as 15% contained.

The blaze was reported around 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The Riverside County Fire Department reports there are 41 engines,210 firefighters, 6 air tankers, and 6 helicopters assigned to the fire.

The Riverside County Emergency AnimalRescue System is helping to evacuate animals from the area.

Out of 47 homes 32 homes in the Aguanga area are evacuated andan evacuation center is set-up at the Community Recreation Center in Temecula.
