Second Human West Nile Case Confirmed in Riverside County

A second case of West Nile virus in humans was confirmed Tuesday by Riverside County Public Health officials.

The 22-year old man lives in western Riverside County. No other details were provided about where he lives.

According to officials, the man is “recovering at home after being hospitalized.”

In August, officials confirmed the first human case of West Nile virus in Riverside County. That patient, a 52-year-old man, is also recovering at home.

There is no indication the two human cases are connected, according to officials.
