Three Small Fires near Beaumont Burn Around Four Acres
Three separate brush fires in Beaumont Thursday collectively scorched roughly four acres and left two firefighters injured before crews got them under control.
Two small wildfires in the Lamb Canyon area were knocked down before
noon, burning about an acre, while another brusher reported around 11:50 a.m. along state Route 79 and Gilman Springs Road scorched about three acres over an hour, by which time crews got it fully contained, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Two firefighters suffered minor, unspecified injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment, a fire department spokeswoman said.
There was no word on what triggered the fires.
Fifteen engine crews and five inmate hand crews, numbering around 130 firefighters, battled the blazes with the help of two air tankers and two water-dropping helicopters.
