Palm Desert man accused in DUI wreck
A Palm Desert man is accused of driving drunk and leaving the scene of a collision he caused. Two others were treated for minor injuries.
Police arrested Nathan Taylor, 39, Thursday night after they say he caused a two vehicle traffic collision near Highway 111 and Monterey Avenue in Palm Desert at 9:24 p.m.
Witnesses told police one of the vehicles left the scene of the traffic collision.
Investigators said Taylor was at the wheel of a black Ford Focus westbound on Highway 111 when he ran a red light at Monterey Avenue and turned southbound onto Monterey.
Taylor’s vehicle was then struck by a black Volkswagen, eastbound on Highway 111.
Witnesses followed Taylor. Police arrested him near Hedgehog Street and Edgehill drive.
They say he also struck a mailbox before officers arrived.
Taylor was arrested for suspicion of DUI and hit and run, then booked into the Riverside County Jail located in the city of Indio.
