Coachella brush fire contained

A wildland fire broke out in heavy brush in Coachella on Saturday, burning five acres.

Around 11:45, fire fighters found two acres of heavy brush on fire at Avenue 53 and Fillmore St, moving at a moderate rate.

About 90 fire fighters helped put the blaze out, it was contained to five acres at approximately 3:00 p.m.

There are no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire was determined to be from spontaneous combustion from heavy piles of mulch, debris and green waste.

Firefighters will be out there working through the evening for full control.
