Singer of “It’s My Party” Lesley Gore begins stint with the Palm Springs Follies

Singer Lesley Gore will start her stint with theFabulous Palm Springs Follies tonight.

Gore, known for the 1963 hit “It’s My Party,” which she recorded atage 16, will take the stage at 7 p.m.

Lorna Luft, daughter of Judy Garland, opened the Follies’ 22nd season,themed “Dance to the Music,” in November. Other guest stars in the seasonthat ends May 19 include singer Lou Christie, who preceded Gore, and Hula Hoopperformer Mat Plendl.

The Follies has a cast of 16 singers and dancers ranging in age from 56-86, who perform pieces from the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s.
