Cathedral City soccer community remembers Diane Keat

The Cathedral City community came together to hold a car wash at Dennis Keat Soccer Park in honor ofAYSO Regional Commissioner Diane Keat on Saturday.

Keat, 55, passed away on Monday afternoon.

It will be a quiet Saturday for young soccer players when they hit the field next weekend.

After whistles blow to kick off game day, both coaches and spectators will remain silent during all of the soccer matches in her honor.

The 17-acre park was renamed after Keat’s husband, Dennis, who passed away in 2010.

The Community says Keat will be remembered as the foundation and backbone of the American Youth Soccer Organization Region 1200.

To help the Keat family with funeral costs, the “Diane Keat Memorial Fund” has been setup with Pacific Western Bank.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. at Forest Lawn Mortuary and Memorial Park (69855 Ramon Road, Cathedral City, CA 92234).
