Woman arrested in connection to local identity thefts
Police arrested a woman in Desert Hot Springs this week after discovering items connecting her with identity thefts recently reported in Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage, according to the Riverside County Sheriff.
Yolanda Velasco, 24, was charged with possession of stolen property after police found items associated with identity theft in her possession at a residence in Desert Hot Springs. Valesco was also charged with being a convicted felon in possession ofammunitionand violation ofprobation.
After investigating the reports of identity theft in Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage, police went to a residence on 6th St in Desert Hot Springs. They found four people at the residence, including Valesco. After talking with those at the residence,all four people were arrested, three on charges unrelated to the identity theft.
Yolanda Velasco, 24, was arrested for the charges stated above. According to the Riverside County Sheriff, she was the only one possessing items connected to the identity theft.
Alisha Loopez, 35, was arrested after police discovered she had a felony warrant out for violating her parole.
Martin Vazquez, 29, also had a felony warrant out for possession of stolen property and vehicle theft.
Edwardo Stultz, 20, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and violation of probation.
All four were transported and booked at the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
