Rancho Mirage convenience store robbed at gunpoint

Rancho Mirage police are looking for a man dressedin black who is suspected of holding up a local convenience store agunpoint, according toRancho Mirage police Sgt. Patrick Carroll.

The armed robbery occurred at about 6:22 p.m. on Monday at theJensen’s Finest Foods on Frank Sinatra Drive near Highway 111.

“A subject entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded moneyfrom the clerk,” Carroll said.

The clerk complied and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount ofmoney, the sergeant said. The clerk was unharmed, Carroll said.

The suspect was described as a white man, about 5 feet 5 inches tall,with a black long-sleeved shirt and black pants. He is described as wearingblack gloves and a black motorcycle helmet with visor.
