Temps to reach 111 this weekend in the Valley

Warmer than usual temperatures are expected inRiverside County this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will be 5 to 15degrees warmer than normal for this time of year, with Saturday being thehottest day.

Highs on Saturday are expected to range from 93 to 103 degrees in thevalleys, 78 to 90 in the mountains, 106 to 111 in the lower deserts and 92 to100 in the high deserts.

“The heat may adversely affect those working or playing outdoors, theelderly, the young or the sick,” an NWS advisory said.

The agency encouraged residents to avoid strenuous outdoor activity, ifpossible.
