Palm Desert teen suspected of raping woman arrested

Palm Desert police arrested a teenager Thursday accused of sexually assaulting a woman at an apartment complex on Fred Waring in Palm Desert.

On Saturday, June 22, police began investigating a report of a sexual assault that took place in the 72000 block of Fred Waring in Palm Desert.

Officers spoke to the victim, who told them she was sexually assaulted the night before after leaving a party in the area. After collecting physical evidence and conducting interviews, investigators identified a suspect who lived inside the apartment complex.

Thursday, June 27, police executed a search warrant at the suspects house and arrested Alexis Haro, 19 of Palm Desert, for committing the rape.

Alexis Haro was later booked into the jail in Indio for rape, sodomy, felony sexual battery, and assault with intent to commit rape.
