Indio Police make arrest in house party murder

Indio Police have a man in custody, charged with the murder of a teen following a fight at a house party last month.

Police say that 25-year old Ernesto Acuno got into a fight out on the street of the 83-100 block of Sonora Avenue in Indio on June 20th.

Police were called to the scene, that is when they located 17-year old Alexis Ramirez lying in the road badly beaten. Ramirez later died at the hospital.

Acuna has been in custody since June 25th on a parole violation confirms the Indio Police Department. In a news release issued by the department late Tuesday, they say evidence from the crime, led investigators to Acuna. They also say the investigation is ongoing.

Three other people were found hurt at the same party, and transported to the hospital with serious to moderate injuries.
