Time Warner Cable drops CBS in NY, LA, Dallas

Three million Time Warner Cable customers in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas are losing the CBS channel, as the cable provider says it is dropping the network in a dispute over fees.

The nation’s second largest cable operator says that CBS refused to have productive discussions despite a monthlong extension of talks since a previous deal expired at the end of June.

CBS says it regrets Time Warner Cable’s decision, which it calls “ill-advised.”

CBS will remain on the air in the Palm Springs area.
