Inland Empire gas price drops to lowest amount since May 8th

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped Friday to its lowest amount since May 8, decreasing 1.4 cents to $3.945.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has fallen for 10 consecutive days and 16 of the last 17 and is 5.9 cents less than one week ago and 6.7 cents lower than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. However, it is 2.6 cents more than one year ago.

The average price has fallen 12.4 cents over the past 17 days, including 1.2 cents on Thursday.

“Local wholesale prices have dropped by more than 40 cents since mid-July, so there is continued downward pressure on prices at the pump,” said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
