Two adults, three children displaced after duplex fire in Indio
Two adults and three children were displaced thisafternoon when a fire damaged a duplex in Indio, a county fire departmentspokeswoman said.
The non-injury blaze, which damaged two units — one of which wasunoccupied — was reported about 1:40 p.m. at 82329 Valencia Ave.
It was originally a two-alarm fire, but the second alarm was canceledand the flames were extinguished by about 2 p.m., Riverside County FireDepartment spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.
The American Red Cross was called to assist the residents, she said.The cause of the fire was under investigation.
