Condo fire quickly contained in Palm Desert

A fire in a Palm Desert condominium was contained to the garage, according to a Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman.

The fire was reported at 7:48 p.m. Sunday in the 74100 block of Catalina
Way, said Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson.

“The first arriving engine company reported smoke and fire showing from
the garage of a condominium,” Hendrickson said. “The fire was quickly contained to the garage at approximately 8:09 p.m.,” she said.

There were 22 firefighters at the scene in five engine companies and one
truck company, Hendrickson said.
