Another hot and humid day forecast for desert

More hot muggy weather is in store for Riverside County today as high pressure remains parked over Southern California, meteorologists said.

“High temperatures in the inland valleys will peak around or slightlyabove 100 degrees (through Saturday),” according to the National Weather Service.

In the mountains and Coachella Valley, a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms will help moderate temperatures, but above-normal highs are still likely, the NWS said.

Little relief is expected overnight, with temperatures throughout the county dipping no lower than the 70s, according to the NWS.

“Needless to say, summer is not over,” the NWS said, noting strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day should be avoided.
