Palm Springs Tram snow guessing contest starts today

Starting Tuesday, people can guess when the first inch of snow will fall at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.

The first 10 people who guess the date of the first inch of snowfall in the tram’s annual snow guessing contest will win four tram admissions and a 50th anniversary gift bag, according to spokeswoman Lena Smith.

If there are more than 10 winning guesses, “the earliest postmarks will prevail,” she said.

The contest will continue until the first measurable inch of snow falls at the Mountain Station at an elevation of 8,516 feet, Smith said.

Guesses should be written on a postcard and mailed to:

People may enter as many times as they want, with one date per postcard, Smith said.
