Inland Empire gas price falls 13th consecutive day

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire fell Tuesday for the 13th consecutive day, dropping four-tenths of a cent to $3.905.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 6.8 cents less than one week ago and 24.1 cents lower than one year ago, but 8 cents more than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has dropped 10.8 cents over the past 13 days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Monday. The dropping prices were immediately preceded by a 10-day streak of rising prices totaling 15.8 cents.

The dropping prices are the result of the resolution of refinery problems, assuring an adequate supply, and declining oil prices, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
