4.2 quake near Joshua Tree

A magnitude-4.2 earthquake has hit the San Bernardino County desert but there are no reports of damage or injuries.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck at 7:06 p.m. Saturday. It was centered 39 miles north of Joshua Tree, a community near the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park.

The county sheriff’s department says there no reports of damage or injuries.
