Desert Blood Services set to hold several blood drives this week

Desert Blood Services will hold three blood drives in the Coachella Valley this week, starting Monday.

The blood drives are scheduled:

Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at College of the Desert’s Cravens Student Center, 43500 Monterey Ave., Palm Desert

Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at La Quinta Resort, 49499 Eisenhower Drive

Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Daily Grill, 73061 El Paseo, Suite 1, Palm Desert.

All donors receive a free cholesterol screening and physical, according to Desert Blood Services. Donors at today’s drive will get a free T-shirt, and donors at the La Quinta drive will receive a voucher for free tacos at Jack in the Box.

Healthy people at least 15 years old can give blood, but those 15 and 16 years old must provide written parental consent.

Photo identification is required, and all donors should eat before arriving and be well hydrated.

Desert Blood Services provides blood products for Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, Palo Verde Hospital in Blythe and Bush Naval Hospital in Twentynine Palms.
