Caltrans reports road closures from boulders, fallen trees

A storm in the Inland Empire has caused some road closures due to pavement loss, fallen trees and boulders.

Officials with Caltrans said southbound traffic on I-15, north of Kenwood, should expect delays due to pavement loss in one of the lanes. Two lanes will be closed until at least 1 p.m. Friday.

Highway 2 is closed west of Wrightwood at Vincents Gap because of fallen trees and rocks. It will remain closed until the storm is over and damaged can be assessed.

Highway 18 is closed from Snow Valley to Big Bear Dam due to a rock slide. Caltrans said there’s no estimate on when the road will reopen.

A viewer contacted KESQ & CBS Local 2 Friday morning around 9:30 a.m. to report the rock slide.

Officials with Caltrans said to reduce your speed and drive with caution on freeways.
