Early morning accident kills Los Angeles police officer and injures another
A Los Angeles police officer was killed this morning and a second injured when their cruiser collided with a truck in Beverly Hills, authorities said.
The crash near Robert Lane and Loma Vista Drive was reported about 8 a.m., according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.
The officer who died at the scene was a man, said Los Angeles police spokesman Richard French, adding that the second officer is a woman who was hospitalized in critical condition, as was the truck driver.
Both officers were from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Station, French said.
Authorities did not immediately release the victims’ names or details of the accident.
