A man was robbed in Palm Desert Monday night as he was walking home from work.

Police said the 34-year-old victim from Rancho Mirage was approached by two suspects who asked to borrow his cell phone at Town Center Way and Fred Waring Drive.

The suspects simulated a weapon and demanded money, according to police.

Authorities said a third suspect was also involved in the robbery. One of the robbers was 19 years old, and the other two were 17 and 16 years old.

Palm Desert police found the three suspects near Dina Shore Drive and Monterey Avenue. The victim identified the trio and two of them were taken to Juvenile Hall, and the other was booked into Riverside County Jail.

The 19 year old suspect is Julio Alvarado from Thousand Palms.

All three suspects are facing robbery charges. Police said the victim wasn’t hurt during the incident.
