Suspect stabbs man in neck, steals vehicle

Deputies at the Perris Station are searching for a man who’s wanted for attempted murder and stealing a car over the weekend.

A 58 year-old man was stabbed in the neck in a carjacking incident that happened in the 23200 block of Cajalco Road in Mead Valley on Saturday morning.

Officials with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said the crime happened around 4:45 a.m.

The victim was taken to a local hospital and underwent surgery. Police said he’s expected to survive.

After reviewing surveillance video and speaking to witnesses, deputies determined the man was approached by a black man on a bicycle who attacked him and stole his vehicle.

Authorities located the stolen vehicle a little while later, abandoned and damaged from crashing.

Deputies are still searching for the suspect. They said he appears to be close to 6′ tall and bald. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white shirt, black pants and white shoes.

If you think you recognize the suspect from the photos, or have any information about the crime, you’re asked to call Investigator Heath at (951) 776-1099.
