While most of the country looks to the fall season to help their hungry neighbors, here in the Coachella Valley, April has been designated as ‘Hunger Action Month’.

CBS Local 2 is holding a live telethon Friday, April 4, at the Food Bank in Indio to help raise money for FIND Food Bank. The event will be hosted by Brooke Beare and Kris Long from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

You can call 1-888-456-5353 to make a donation.

To help FIND (Food In Need of Distribution) Food Bank feed the valley’s hungry and alleviate the growing problem of food insecurity, we encourage the entire community to make donations during the annual event.

FIND works with a network of more than 100 community-based partners that include local soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, after school programs and senior centers, to distribute more than 8 million pounds of food annually to feed more than 80,000 people each month in the valley.

The annual telethon has become a major fundraiser for the food bank. The third annual televised event will air during commercial breaks on CBS Local 2.
