Family of slain TSA agent files $25 million claim in LAX shooting

A law firm has filed a $25 million claim against the city of Los Angeles on behalf of the wife and family of a security screener killed in a gunman’s attack at Los Angeles International Airport last year.

AlderLaw P.C. said Thursday the claim was filed on behalf of the family of Transportation Security Administration Officer Gerardo Hernandez, who was killed Nov. 1.

Authorities say the gunman targeted TSA officers. Three other people were injured.

The claim alleges that the city, including the Los Angeles World Airports department, failed to properly supervise and train personnel at the airport and delayed medical care to Hernandez.

A claim can be a precursor to a lawsuit if it is rejected.
