Woman killed crossing Hwy 62
A woman was hit and killed by a car on Highway 62 Tuesday night when she tried to cross the highway on foot in Morongo Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers said the woman was 54 years old.
The incident happened east of Park Avenue around 8:30 p.m.. CHP said the Morongo Valley resident died from her injuries after she walked in the direct path of a car driven by a woman from Twentynine Palms.
The pedestrian’s name won’t be released until officers notify her family.
The woman driving the car wasn’t injured.
