New housing community in Palm Springs set to be complete this fall
The Agua Caliente band of Cahuilla Indians is building a new housing community in Palm Springs.
Members of the tribe and other city leaders broke ground for the new facility on Thursday.
The Vallera Palm Springs housing community will house 52 single-family homes on Tribal trust land within the reservation.
It’s located at the corner of Ramon and Calle El Segundo.
The first homes should be completed in September.
The groundbreaking comes after the tribe’s announcement this week to close its Spa Resort hotel and spa downtown.
