Group looks for volunteers to help find missing friend

The Palm Springs Police Department is currently investigating a missing person identified as Andrew “Andy” Stubbs. Now his friends are looking for volunteers to help search for him on Saturday.

Stubbs is a 51 year old white male. He has blond hair and hazel eyes. He’s 5’11” and weighs 160 lbs.

Stubbs lives in the area of San Rafael Drive and Indian Canyon Drive. He was last seen with friends on May 4th. Police say the circumstances of his disappearance are not known at this time. His vehicle is not missing and there is nothing to indicate that he has left the Palm Springs area.

His friends are looking for volunteers for an organized search on Saturday, May 17, at 8 am. The group will be meeting at the Palm Springs Visitor Area, located at 2901 N. Palm Canyon Drive.

His friend Colleen said even if you can’t hike on the trails, they need people to shuttle others to the drop-off area by the trailhead before the tram because parking isn’t allowed there.

She said they’re looking for as many volunteers as possible. You can visit the group’s Facebook page for more information.

If you have any information about Stubbs or his disappearance, please call the Palm Springs Police Department at 760-327-1441 or Valley Crime Stoppers at 760-341-7867.
