Palm Springs power outage affected over 1,000 customers

A power outage was reported in Palm Springs just after 2:30 p.m. Crews with Southern California Edison are hoping to have the problem resolved by Friday afternoon.

SCE’s website said the outage initially affected 1,791 customers, but by 3:50 p.m. that number was down to 158.

The outage occurred in the northwest part of the city. SCE said it affected customers from Tramview Road going south to San Rafael Road, who were located in between Indian Canyon Drive and Palm Canyon Drive.

Repair crews are analyzing the problem. The utility provider didn’t have information on what caused the power outage or how long it will be before power is restored to all customers.
