Desert Blood Services to hold several blood drives in the Coachella Valley

Desert Blood Services will hold several blood drives in the Coachella Valley this week, starting Tuesday.

The schedule:

— Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at SBB College, 34275 Monterey Ave., Rancho Mirage. Donors will receive a free UltraStar Cinemas movie ticket.

— Wednesday, 7 a.m. to noon at the Coachella Valley Water District, 75515 Hovley Lane East, Palm Desert. Donors get a $5 In-N-Out gift card.

— Thursday, 7 a.m. to noon at the Coachella Valley Water District, 85995 Avenue 52, Coachella. Donors get a $5 In-N-Out gift card.

— Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Walmart, 5601 E. Ramon Road, Palm Springs. Donors will receive a $5 Walmart gift card.

— Friday, 1 to 5 p.m. at Premier Care Center, 2990 E. Ramon Road, Palm Springs. Donors will receive a free UltraStar Cinemas movie ticket.

All donors get free cholesterol screenings and physicals.

Healthy people at least 15 years old can give blood, but those 15 and 16 years old must provide written parental consent. Photo identification is required, and all donors should eat and be well-hydrated before arriving, according to Desert Blood Services.
