Police release photo of suspected bank robber in Cathedral City

Police are looking for a man accused of robbing a Chase Bank in Cathedral City Wednesday night. Witnesses identified the suspect as 36-year-old Damon Ingram.

According to a release from the Cathedral City Police Department, Ingram allegedly walked into the Chase Bank located at 67800 Vista Chino around 7 p.m. Witnesses said he used a demand note and made verbal threats, including the fact that he had a gun. However, the gun was never seen by bank employees.

The suspect made off with an unknown amount of money and was last seen heading northbound from the bank. Police have been analyzing surveillance video from the bank and expect to release that to the public when they have the opportunity.

Officers said Ingram is a transient who lives in his car and he’s known to hang out around the Cathedral City area. He drives a very unique vehicle; a 1969 two-door, candy apple green Oldsmobile on chrome 26″ rims.

His California license plate no. is ZBN05. The public is urged to report any sightings of his vehicle but not attempt to contact or confront the suspect.

If you have any information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts, call the Cathedral City Police Department at 760-770-0300.
