Banning man arrested accused of transporting meth while riding motorcycle

A Banning man is in custody accused of transporting meth.

Police attempted to pull over 28-year-old Oscar Villalvazo-Granero for not wearing a helmet at 11:45 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of Williams.

Villalvazo-Granero sped off, but stalled the motorcycle in the construction area near Lincoln and Sunset.

The officer was able to detain Villalvazo-Granero.

During a search, an officer found approximately 11.5 ounces of methamphetamine in a backpack he was carrying, along with an electronic scale, and about $400 in cash.

After further investigation, it was determined Villalvazo-Granero was out on bail for a similar arrest last month from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Villalvazo-Granero was booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility for possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sale and committing a felony while out on bail.

Villalvazo-Granero’s bail was set at $1 million and he is scheduled for arraignment Thursday.
