Earthquake Felt Across the Valley

The U.S. Geological Survey reports a 2.9 quake at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday after a 3.7 earthquake hit in the same area near San Jacinto at 7:38 p.m..

San Jacinto is on the other side of Mt. San Jacinto from the Coachella Valley.

There are no reports of damage or injuries.

A number of people called the newsroom saying they felt the quake.
