Desert Hot Springs police say one suspect is at Desert Regional Medical Center as a result of a botched robbery.

Police say an unknown number of suspects tried to rob an apartment on the 66300 block of Desert View Rd. at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

The would-be victim shot at the suspects, hitting one of them.

That suspect is in Desert Regional Medical Center in serious but stable condition, according to Desert Hot Springs police.

Investigators are still looking for outstanding suspects.
