Child hurt as truck plows into Coachella home

A child suffered minor injuries when a Ford F-150 pickup truck plowed into the family’s home in Coachella, and the driver fled, a sergeant said Sunday.

The crash was reported at 11:32 p.m. Saturday in the 86-000 block of Palmeras Circle. The child was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Jessica Vanderhoof said.

The child’s name, age and gender were not disclosed.

The driver was eventually identified as Noel Felix, 28, of North Shore. Vanderhood said he crashed the pickup into the home and then ran and evaded capture.

The sergeant did not reveal how Felix was identified.

Deputies asked anyone with information about the crash, or of Felix’s whereabouts, to call the sheriff’s Coachella station at (760) 863-8990.
