Home invasion robbery suspect arrested in Desert Hot Springs

A man who was wanted by police in connection to a home invasion robbery on August 17 was arrested Tuesday morning in Desert Hot Springs.

Officers with the Desert Hot Springs Police Department said 41-year-old Timothy Echagaray was taken into custody around 9:00 a.m. Police received information that he was at a home in the 66250 block of Second Street.

According to the release, Echagaray ran from police but was taken into custody following a short pursuit. He was also in possession of narcotics.

His booking photo wasn’t immediately available Tuesday afternoon.

This is the second arrest stemming from the August 17 home invasion robbery that occurred around 4 p.m. on Flora Avenue. Police said three armed suspects confronted a man in his garage before taking off in his car.

Arturo Echagaray, a 22 year old from Desert Hot Springs (pictured above), was arrested after leading police on a pursuit in the stolen car that ended at Park Lane and Verbena Drive.

Officers said Timothy Echagaray, now in custody, was one of the suspects who escaped that day. The third suspect is still on the run.
