Live music concert takes place Friday night to benefit FIND Food Bank

Electronic dance groups Poolside and Them Jeans will headline the second annual “Rock Out to Knock Out Hunger” concert in Palm Springs Friday night.

Santa Monica-based rock cover band Famous for Nothing will open for the
main acts, both of which have played at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts
Festival and the summertime Splash House concert series.

A $10 donation will be taken at the door, with all proceeds benefiting
FIND Food Bank in Indio, Palm Springs spokeswoman Amy Blaisdell said.

The concert starts at 6 p.m. at the Hacienda Cantina and Beach Club, and
is being organized by community and tourism leaders, the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and Coachella and Stagecoach music festival promoter Goldenvoice.

In effort to allow people from all over the desert and beyond to attend the event and spend the night in Palm Springs, the city has partnered with P.S. Resorts to feature limited special hotel rates at three different locations:

The Hard Rock Palm Springs, $99 special rate, group code is FIND
The Hilton Palm Springs, $99 special rate, group code is ROK
The Curve, $95 special rate, group code is RCKOUT

September is national Hunger Action Month, and people can drop off
canned food through the end of the month at City Hall, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, and at the Palm Springs Public Library, 300 S. Sunrise Way.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 are proud sponsors of ‘Rock Out to Knock Out Hunger’.
