Palm Springs police investigate drive-by shooting
The Palm Springs Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that happened at 12:20 Saturday morning at Ramon Road and Crossley Road.
The investigation determined a shooting victim was a rear passenger inside a vehicle traveling westbound on Ramon Rd near the intersection of Crossley Rd., according to the police department.
They say the driver of a green two-door Honda sedan stopped next to another vehicle and shot multiple rounds into the car. The victim sustained two non life-threatening gunshot wounds to the shoulder and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
“We are not getting a lot of information from the victim,” said Palm Springs Police Sergeant William Hutchinson, making it difficult for investigators to develop information leading to the assailants.
According to police, the occupants of the victim’s vehicle said they did not know why they were targeted.
