Felon arrested in La Quinta after police find narcotics & guns

A 48-year-old felon from La Quinta was arrested Friday after officers with the Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at his home, revealing over $23,000 worth of methamphetamine and nine guns.

Authorities said they confiscated over a pound of meth, a substantial amount of marijuana, four hand guns, one assault rifle, one shotgun, one hunting rifle, two other long gun rifles, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition from Rios’ home.

Rios was arrested and booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio. He’s charged with possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of marijuana for sales, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and for being a felon in possession of ammunition, according to the release.
