Tour de Palm Springs announce date change for 2016

Organizers of the Tour de Palm Springs confirm they are moving the popular biking event to January because February is crowded with many community events.

Tim Esser, Founder of the Tour de Palm Springs, announced exclusively to KESQ/CBS Local 2 late on Thursday the fun rides will now be held on January 22nd-23rd 2016.

The bicycling event attracts thousands of people to the Coachella Valley.

It has traditionally been held in February, but the month has become crowded with many events including Modernism Week and The Riverside County Fair and Date Festival.

Last year, President Obama even spent the weekend in the Coachella Valley while the bike riders peddled through the desert.
