Highway 111 reopens in Indian Wells after 3-car crash

A portion of Highway 111 was closed to traffic in Indian Wells Monday morning for about two hours after a three-car crash lead to spilled chemicals on the roadway.

Nobody was injured in the crash, according to officials with Cal Fire.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said a taxi and truck hauling pool chemicals collided at Highway 111 and El Dorado Drive around 8:30 a.m. After Hazmat had the chemicals cleaned up, officials reopened the road about two hours later.

There was no description of the third vehicle involved in the crash, but once again, officials said nobody was hurt in the collision.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
