Men rescued after vehicle gets stuck in wash

Crews rescued two men near Sky Valley Monday morning after they were forced to spend the night in a wash when their vehicle became stuck in the dirt.

According to authorities, the men called 911 around 9:15 a.m. to report they had been stuck in the wash all night and were starting to become dehydrated.

A CHP helicopter helped Cal Fire and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department locate the men in an area near Corkill Road and 20th Avenue. Both men were taken to to the hospital for evaluation.

Officials said one of the men had a warrant out for his arrest. He was expected to be processed after being cleared by the hospital.

The arrest warrant was possibly a reason why the men didn’t call for help on Sunday night. Officials haven’t released the man’s name or the charges he’s facing.
