Three hurt at motocross event

Three people are recovering after a dirt bike collided into the stands at the Cahuilla Creek Motocross track.

The crash happened around one Sunday afternoon at the race track that’s located in the Cahuilla Reservation, just off of Highway 371.

The crash happened on the main track where an all day public TWMX racing event was taking place.

CAL FIRE says three people where hurt when one of the racers crashed into a stand.

One was airlifted to a local hospital with major injuries. The two others had minor injuries, one of which was transported by an ambulance to a local hospital.

Races were concluded on the main track at the time of the crash, however the event continued on the Vet track for the rest of the day.
